Description
WWI Trench Firing Position – Frontline Sandbag Fighting Bay (1914–1918)
Authentic Frontline Combat Position
This WWI trench firing position represents a typical frontline fighting bay used by soldiers during trench warfare from 1914–1918. The design allows a single soldier to stand slightly above the trench floor and fire over the parapet.
Because of this elevated platform, soldiers could observe the battlefield and engage the enemy while remaining protected inside the trench.
Sandbag Reinforced Defense
The edges of the position are reinforced with large sandbags that form a protective barrier along the parapet. These sandbags provided additional protection against bullets and shrapnel.
Moreover, the layout reflects common defensive construction used on the Western Front. As a result, the model fits naturally into historical WWI trench systems.
Ideal for Figures and Dioramas
This trench section works perfectly for:
-
placing infantry figures in firing poses
-
building realistic frontline trench networks
-
creating combat scenes and dioramas
-
tabletop wargaming terrain
-
expanding modular trench systems
Furthermore, the piece connects naturally with other trench elements such as straight sections, corners, and rear line trenches.
Scale Options
Available in:
-
1:35
-
1:56
The proportions match standard WWI figures and trench accessories in these scales.
Materials and Finish
The model is produced using high-precision 3D printing with durable PLA material. This allows the piece to reproduce realistic trench textures, wooden planks, and sandbag shapes.
The model is supplied unpainted and ready for priming and painting.
Working Tips
Before painting, lightly clean the model and apply a plastic primer. This improves paint adhesion and prepares the surface.
After priming, paint the sandbags using canvas tones and apply darker washes for depth. In addition, use mud pigments and weathering effects to create a realistic battlefield environment.
Finally, add dust, dirt, and wear effects so the trench blends naturally with other terrain pieces.
